Cottage Charm Katy
The History of the Romack House
The Romack house was marked as a historical landmark in 1986
and the marker reads as follows:
"This home was built in 1905 by Giles Elam Romack and his wife Ephilus Elizabeth Milnor Romack. After the death of Ephilus Romack in 1913 Harvey Edwin Romack moved into this home and lived here until his death in June 1967. This home has never been moved. The only remodeling done to this home includes the enclosing of a porch and the addition of two baths."
Harvey Edwin Romack was a pillar in the Katy community as he served on the Katy City Council, was the Justice of the Peace in the Katy rotary Club, a charter member of the Katy Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Katy ISD school board for 25 years.
The Cottage Charm property is also home to three Katy Legacy Trees. These three oaks were planted in 1907 by H.E Romack and still stand today providing shade and natural beauty to the property.
